Navigating the First Year: Online Parents Group

Especially not this early—when everyone tells you to “soak it all in,” but your whole world feels upside down.

Maybe not every day…but often enough to leave you wondering:
  • What if this overwhelming exhaustion is just my new normal?
  • What if we never start sleeping through the night?
  • What if I never feel like myself again?
  • What if it doesn’t actually get any better than this?
  • What if this is just my body, my life, and who I am now?
  • What if I’m doing this all wrong?
  • What if I'm screwing up my kid?
  • What if everyone else is just better at this than me?
  • What if I’m not cut out for this?
  • What if I made a huge mistake?

[Spoiler alert: Self-doubt isn’t a sign of failure—it’s a normal part of any new experience, especially parenthood.]

You knew it wouldn’t
be easy—but you didn't expect it to feel this hard.

You knew it wouldn’t be easy…
But you didn't expect it to feel this hard

We’re often led to believe infancy is supposed to be one of the happiest times of our lives. Between the photos, commercials, and well-meaning advice, life with a baby can sometimes look like a whole of nothing but newborn bliss.

But that version of early parenthood? It couldn’t be further from the truth.

And the solution? Too many parents are told to "just wait"—that it’ll get better eventually. But that kind of encouragement rarely helps with the very real challenges and overwhelm you’re facing right now.

The problem isn’t you...it’s the broken way we (fail to) support new parents.

The problem isn’t you... it’s the broken way we (fail to) support new parents.

If you’re craving a little more ease in the middle of this rollercoaster, here’s what can actually help:

  • A safe, judgment-free space to say how you’re really feeling—no filters, no pressure.
  • A supportive circle of parents navigating the same murky waters, so you know you’re not the only one.
  • A pocket of calm and comfort—a space to exhale when everything else feels like chaos.
  • A trusted source of clarity when your brain is full and the questions won’t stop.
  • A community that doesn’t just tell you you’re doing great—but helps you feel more confident as you find your footing.
  • An easy, low-pressure way to connect, from the comfort of your couch, with people who genuinely get it.

Because when you have this kind of support?
  • You start to feel more like yourself again.
  • You stop second-guessing every decision.
  • You connect with people who get it, and you finally exhale—knowing you’re not doing this alone.

Navigating the First Year

Introducing...

I'M IN—SIGN ME UP!

Weekly Group Calls
We meet live on Zoom each week—whether you’re holding a sleeping baby, wearing yesterday’s clothes, or squeezing it in during a lunch break. We start with a round-robin check-in so everyone can share the good, the hard, and the hopeful. Then, each week we alternate between open discussion and coach-led topics like the mental load, identity, matrescence, self-care, and all things infant care—feeding, sleep, travel, and more.

A Private Community
Between calls, stay connected inside our private online space. Ask questions, vent about what’s keeping you up at night, share your small wins, or message me directly. This is your place for ongoing connection, encouragement, and support—beyond just once a week.

Online Resource Library
Access short videos and articles on everything from mental health, self-care, and burnout to postpartum recovery and infant care. Clear, expert guidance you can tap into anytime—no endless Googling required.

Here’s what you’ll get when you join:

It’s where real talk meets real support—a weekly dose of comfort, connection, and growth. Whether you’re joining in your PJs with spit-up on your shirt, between work calls after returning to the office, or during a rare quiet moment with coffee in hand—you’re welcome here.

Imagine how it would be to actually feel ready.

This isn't a one-size-fits-all moms group

You can join anytime during your baby’s first year—whether you’re hours, days, weeks, or months into parenthood—and stay as long as you need.

It's all waiting for you inside Navigating the First Year.

“What truly distinguishes the From Pregnant to Parent program is the unwavering commitment to preparing parents for birth and the whirlwind that follows.

My sessions leading up to birth were not just informative, they were invaluable, equipping me with knowledge, strategies, and above all, a sense of calm amidst the anticipation of our first kid.

And the postpartum support group became a sanctuary during the chaos of the early months. Surrounded by fellow parents navigating similar waters, I found solace, understanding, and practical advice.

It's where my exhaustion met empathy, confusion met clarity, and overwhelming emotions found a safe space to be expressed. I cannot recommend this community enough! This isn't just a service but a lifeline for the transition from pregnancy to parenthood.”

“As a new mom with no mom friends in my area, I needed space with other moms with support. I joined the group 12 days postpartum and immediately found the support I longed for.

I stayed for 9 months and met weekly with other moms discussing topics varying from breastfeeding to sleep schedules to postpartum everything. Richelle challenges you in ways that has you leaving the call feeling empowered to tackle your week until you meet again.

Richelle has been the best mentor, coach, doula, sleep expert, and all things motherhood. She’s also become an incredible friend. I recommend Richelle and any and all courses she offers to anyone!

You will only walk away a better person after knowing her!”

"The community group is awesome, supportive, and Richelle doubles as both a coach and peer willing to lend an empathetic ear. She was supportive, smart, always goes above and beyond, caring [and] confident."

"Richelle is charting out a new and much-needed model of supporting new parents, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have benefited from her care and guidance."

- Nicle K., First-Time Mom

As a coach, doula, and mom of two boys, I’ve experienced the rollercoaster of early parenthood firsthand.

I remember wondering if I’d ever feel like myself again—and craving a sense of normalcy, confidence, and connection during those disorienting, emotional first months.

Navigating the First Year is the village I wish I had. It’s not just a place to get answers or vent (though you can totally do that)—it’s a space to feel seen, heard, and supported no matter how many days, weeks, or months postpartum you are.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from years of supporting new parents, it’s this: being a good parent isn’t about doing it all perfectly. It’s about having space to grow into this new version of yourself, with the support you need to stop just surviving—and start enjoying more of this season.

You deserve a community where you feel safe, supported, and equipped to navigate whatever comes next—with a little more ease and a lot less guilt.

What if I don’t have time to join the weekly group calls?

What if I don’t have time to join the weekly group calls?

I've got answers.

Still have questions?

I get it—parenthood is busy, and your days are unpredictable. That’s why all of our calls are virtual, to make it even easier to join regardless of what you have going on. You can join late, leave early, turn your camera on or off, participate via the chat only, or just listen. And if you can’t make it at all, don’t sweat it. That’s why we have a private online community, monthly office hours, and an online resource library—to support you between calls!

My baby is older than a newborn. Is this group still for me?

My baby is older than a newborn. Is this group still for me?

Absolutely! Once upon a time, this group was only for parents of newborns, but we realized very quickly that many parents need more support and space to navigate this transition on their own timeline. That’s why Navigating the First Year is for parents with children from birth through 12 months. We cover topics relevant to every stage of that first year. Have a child older than 12 months? Check out Empowered & Grounded!

Will I get personalized support?

Will I get personalized support?

Yes! During our weekly calls, you’ll have time to ask questions and get tailored answers from your coach and fellow parents. I work hard to make sure our community feels safe and non-judgmental, but just in case you need support with a sensitive topic, you’ll also have direct access to me via private messaging within the community and the option to book 1:1 calls at an additional cost.

Don’t groups create spaces for comparison and judgment?

I feel like I should have it all figured out already. Don’t groups create spaces for comparison and judgment?

You’re not alone in feeling that way, but here’s the truth: parenthood is a learning process for everyone. This group is a judgment-free space to share your experiences, ask questions, and find encouragement. There’s no such thing as a perfect parent, and Navigating the First Year is here to help you feel more confident and supported in your journey at your own pace, wherever you’re at.

What’s the time commitment?

What’s the time commitment?

Our weekly calls are about an hour, but you can always choose how much time you dedicate each month. Even if you can only join the calls occasionally or participate in the group discussions when it fits your schedule, you’ll still benefit from the resources and community.

Is this group just for moms?

Is this group just for moms?

Nope! Although this group is geared towards birthing parents who identify as moms, this group is open to all parents. Whether you’re a mom, dad, or another primary caregiver, you’re welcome here. The key requirement is that you’re parenting an infant.

I have friends/family supporting me. What makes this different?

I already have support from family and friends. What makes this different?

While family and friends can be a great support system, Navigating the First Year gives you access to expert guidance, evidence-based strategies, and a community of parents who truly understand what you’re going through because they’re in it with you. Sometimes, it helps to connect with people outside your immediate circle to gain a fresh perspective, people who have the added benefit of holding their experience fresh in the mind. It’s truly amazing how fast we forget the details and how quickly information shifts around infant care, products, and guidance.

What if I’m nervous about opening up in a group setting?

What if I’m nervous about opening up in a group setting?

That’s completely normal. Our group is designed to feel safe and welcoming, and you’ll never be pressured to share more than you’re comfortable with. Many parents find it comforting just to hear others’ experiences and realize they’re not alone.

Is this a good replacement for therapy?

Is this a good replacement for therapy?

While this course offers tools for emotional regulation and a better understanding of your feelings, it's entirely focused on thought exercises, reflection, and practical strategies you can apply directly to your life. It’s a great complement to therapy, but it’s not a replacement or substitute for it.

Are you a therapist or a coach? What’s the difference?

Are you a therapist or a coach? What’s the difference?

I'm glad you asked! I am not a therapist, counselor, psychologist, doctor, or any other kind of licensed healthcare professional. I am a coach. While coaching can feel therapeutic, it’s not a replacement for therapy. Therapy tends to focus on the past to diagnose and treat clients healing from past traumas, whereas coaching is more future- and action-oriented, helping you achieve specific goals, outcomes, or transformations.

How is this different from a parenting class?

How is this different from a parenting class?

While parenting classes often focus on teaching specific skills, Navigating the First Year combines expert advice with emotional support, self-care strategies, and community connection. It’s not just about learning—it’s about feeling seen, supported, and empowered.

Can I cancel at any time?

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes! Navigating the First Year is a month-to-month or quarterly membership, so you’re free to cancel anytime. I want you to feel like this is the right fit for you without any pressure or long-term commitment. For this reason, you can cancel whenever you’re ready to move on—or you can “graduate” to our Empowered Parents Club to continue navigating parenthood with a community of support.

I’m (NOT) a first-time parent. Is this group for me?

I’m a first-time parent/I’m NOT a first-time parent. Is this membership for me?

Absolutely! Whether you’re navigating parenthood for the first time or balancing the needs of multiple children, Navigating the First Year offers the support, tools, and community you need. Every baby is different, and this group is here to help you feel confident and supported no matter where you are in your parenting journey.

I’ve tried other moms' groups/ circles. How is this different?

I’ve tried other moms' groups/ circles. How is this different?

This isn’t just another group where you show up each week to share stories and swap advice (though we do that, too!). Navigating the First Year combines open discussions with coach-led discussions so you get practical strategies, personalized support, clarity, and a deeper sense of connection with the community and yourself. Most importantly? We’re here to support you through the entire first year if you want it!

When do we start?

When do we start?

You can apply to join at anytime! The group is ongoing, so there’s no need to wait for a specific start date as long as there is space available. The first step is to apply to join. That’s when we’ll discuss the group’s current day/time, and whether or not there’s a space available. Once you become a member, you’ll have instant access to our private online community, call schedule, and resource library, all hosted on Mighty Networks.

Do you ever “graduate” out of Navigating the First Year?

Do you ever “graduate” out of Navigating the First Year?

Yes! This membership is designed to support you through your baby’s first year. Once you feel more settled in your role or your little one turns 1, you’ll have the option to “graduate” or move on to our Empowered Parents Club, a community of support for parents navigating the early years of parenthood.

What happens if I don’t like it—can I cancel my membership?

What happens if I don’t like it—can I cancel my membership?

Yes, of course. Navigating the First Year is a month-to-month or quarterly membership with no long-term commitment. If you decide it’s not the right fit, you can cancel at any time—no hard feelings!

How often is the content updated?

Do you ever “graduate” out of Navigating the First Year?

The weekly group calls and discussions are always fresh and tailored to the questions and needs of current members. Plus, any tools, resources, or guides included in the membership are regularly reviewed to ensure they remain relevant and helpful. New resources are added to the library as needed. Have a request? Just ask!

Can I share my membership with my partner?

Do you ever “graduate” out of Navigating the First Year?

Yes…and no. Parenting is a team effort, and your partner is welcome to share your account to access any of the resources in the Online Resource Library. If you’re both planning to join the calls and participate in the private community, that would require two separate memberships so you each have equal time to participate and share. I’m happy to discuss this further if you'd like!

You’re in the thick of your baby’s first year—whether it’s your first time or not—and want to feel more confident and supported.

You’re balancing caring for your little one with trying to care for yourself, but it feels like something always falls through the cracks…and you’re starting to burn out.

You feel overwhelmed by the advice overload (from Google, social media, or well-meaning relatives) and just want clear, actionable guidance.

You’re tired of feeling like you have to figure it all out alone and crave a supportive community of parents who get it.

You’ve already tried other groups or strategies, but something was always missing—whether it was guidance from actual experts, practical resources, or non-judgmental support.

You don’t want to just wait and see if things get better; you want reassurance, guidance, and practical tips to help you start enjoying this season of parenthood more right now.

Navigating the First Year is perfect for you if...

Still on the fence?

You don’t have to grit your way through your little one’s first year, second-guessing every move, waiting for things to magically get easier, or wondering if you’ll ever feel like yourself again.

We were never meant to do this alone. Parenting an infant is hard and needing support isn’t a weakness; it’s essential. Navigating the First Year gives you the tools, guidance, and community you deserve to enjoy more of this special (and challenging) season while you're in it.

Secure your spot and start embracing this season of your parenthood journey with more joy, ease, and clarity as early as next week.
